Biography
STASYS EIDRIGEVIČIUS
Born in 1949 in Lithuania, in 1968-1973 he studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Vilnius and moved to Poland in 1980.
At the outset of his career he focused on book art - miniatures, bookplates and illustrations - to continue with masks, pastels, tempera, ink drawings and oils.
Laureate of numerous international prizes and medals in various fields of his artistic activity, such as: Grand Prix International Book Illustration Contest in Barcelona (1986), Gold Hugon at the International Poster Festival in Chicago (1987), Silver Medal at the 2nd International Exhibition of Graphic Art in New York (1988), Grand Prix of the 1st International Biennial Exhibition of Book Illustration in Belgrad (1990) and in Bratislava (1991), Gold Medal of the Society of Illustrators in New York and Grand Prix of the International Salon of Poster In Paris (1993), Gold Medal at the 4th International Triennial of Poster in Toyama (Japan, 1994) and Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice (1999) as well as the national Lithuanian orders and awards (Gedymin Order, 2000; National Art Award, 2001; Honored by the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius - title of Doctor Honoris Causa, 2009); Silver Medal for Merit to Culture "Gloria Artis" from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, 2010, Rusian Academy of Arts Honor Member, 2012; Honored with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, 2019.
He has exhibited in the USA, Switzerland, Japan, Great Britain, Spain, France, Germany and many other countries.

Urodził się w 1949 roku na Litwie. W latach 1968-1973 studiował na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Wilnie. Przeniósł się do Polski w 1980 roku.
Początkowo tworzył miniatury, exlibrisy i ilustracje, w późniejszym okresie plakaty, maski, pastele, oleje, tempery, rysunki tuszem. Zajmuje się scenografią, tworzy instalacje, obiekty, performanse.
Jest laureatem międzynarodowych nagród i wyróżnień w różnych dziedzinach swej twórczości, m.in. Grand Prix Międzynarodowego Konkursu Ilustratorskiego w Barcelonie (1986), Gold Hugon na Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Plakatu w Chicago (1987), Srebrnego Medalu II Międzynarodowej Wystawy Grafiki w Nowym Jorku (1988), Grand Prix I Międzynarodowego Biennale Ilustracji w Belgradzie (1990) i w Bratysławie (1991), Złotego Medalu Stowarzyszenia Ilustratorów w Nowym Jorku i Grand Prix na Międzynarodowym Salonie Plakatu w Paryżu (1993), Złotego Medalu IV Międzynarodowego Triennale Plakatu w Toyamie (Japonia, 1994) i Polskiego Biennale Plakatu w Katowicach (1999) oraz narodowych odznaczeń i nagród litewskich (Order Giedymina, 2000; Nagroda Państwowa w dziedzinie sztuki, 2001, Uhonorowany przez Akademię Sztuk Pięknych w Wilnie tytułem Doktora Honoris Causa, 2009); odznaczony Srebrnym Medalem „Gloria Artis” przez Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego, 2010; Honorowy Członek Rosyjskiej Akademii Sztuki, 2012; Uhonorowany Krzyżem Komandorskim Orderu Zasługi Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej, 2019.
Wystawiał w Stanach Zjednoczonych, Szwajcarii, Japonii, Wielkiej Brytanii, Hiszpanii, Francji, Niemczech i wielu innych krajach.
